I was up in Solihull and kept a look out. But the skies were cloudy, and the only bit that wasn't cloudy was low on the horizon and suffering from all the artificial light around. Disappointing really, as I'd have loved to have kept watch, but there was no point.
Ah well - at least I know now what the constellation Draco is.

Earlier today I looked up the Draconids on the computer, in the rather vain hope that someone may have got some decent shots of this clouded over spectacle. Interestingly I found a post, quoting the usual NASA "proof", that the Draconids were merely the herald for a very large object following in their wake and that this will be our doom. It ended with the cheery warning that we will have only two weeks left.
I would have been worried but the post was dated April 2010. Oops, another doomsday past its sell-by date.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
