Accoroding to the census 2011, "Only 47 Dover (District) residents described themselves as Atheists."
But there are "71,541 Christians in Dover (District) - almost three-quarters of the district's population and the second-highest percentage in Kent."
For more on the beliefs of Dover District's residents, see:

The figures for Dover District are those in the census, Keith.
Including:
"No one in Dover district claimed to be a Humanist."

The article does not say how many ticked the 'no religion' box - if there was one. Being an Atheist is not the same as having no religion. Atheism actively denies a god.

I suspect it is down to a badly worded question and people picking the religion they were born into rather than their current belief.

What is the definition of a Humanist? I class myself as an Atheist even though I was baptised as a child...

That is the one bit of the form that I can't remember what I would have put if there was not a 'no religion' box to tick. I think that a Humanist is the new term for an Agnostic if you know what I mean, I am not sure and I am not interested enough to find out but I bet Tom will come up with the answer.

Isn't an Agnostic someone who is unsure one way or another?

If only everyone who ticked the Christian box on the census was actually a Christian. Many people are a little confused. Whilst one can be born a Muslim, or a Hindu or a Jew, not one person ever has been born a Christian, it is something that one becomes and is born of knowledge and a realisation that one is a sinner in need of salvation from the just anger of God against the sin and rebellion inherent in our nature. Being sprinkled as an infant is no guarantee that one will become a Christian in later life and certainly does not make one a Christian from the moment of sprinkling.

Once again, Keith, your predictions have been proven utterly out of touch!

Keith, the figures are correct: the masses of people are believers in the Christian Faith from Dover by the Sea to Skara Brae in Orkney Islands.
