This is an e-mail that has gone to Charlie. I can not revile the persons name at this time as his job could be at risk.

Charlie sorry to bother you yet again, although I am still hoping for a reply re hospital parking charges it has come to my notice through a very reliable person that after all the money that has been spent renovating the Dover police station that the Kent police authority are at present redeploying police officers to other stations in Kent with the outlook to shutting Dover police station in the near future??????????????????

is this yet another nail in the coffin of Dover????????????

when I say shutting I suppose they may use it for admin staff etc but it will cease to exist as an active police station. surely even if it is closed at nights/weekends it is only right to expect it to close at some point.
can you ask the Kent police to confirm or reject this please.

Dover has already lost its hospital and please do not quote the bull the EKHT keep telling gullible people as what they intend to replace it with its by absolutely NO comparison to a hospital, it is a walk-in clinic and soon it will change to appointments only and due to the fact that they do not have the facilities of a hospital they will not be able to cope, and emergency will fall to the over worked ambulance service to try and cope with as there will be a very substantial rise in ambulance calls, and what if it is what they may call a minor injury? say a deep cut etc will people be expected to wait till next day and hope they can just walk-in to the clinic and probably have a receptionist tell them that they cannot cope and they will have to fined their own way to Ashford, Canterbury or Margate perhaps? NO there is no PERHAPS it will happen.

and now the same at Dover police station?????????????

Dover has been totally neglected in resent years and is fast falling into a slum area with little or no amenities for residents and nothing to offer other than a drive-through to the ferry ports, this town was the mainstay of Britain throughout two world wars but now its not needed any more it is being disregarded for everything, its no good talking about bringing shops into Dover like Morrison's and Asda because the residents wont have any work soon to buy things in them you cannot expect to built this town up with just private money we need the government to step up as well and start investing heavily here and very very soon.

this is a fast dying town and a fast dying community, Dover should have been the first town in Britain to receive a ROYAL to its name, it is still the gateway to Britain regardless of airports but even then the towns around the airports are strongly supported so why isn't Dover it serves the same purpose of bringing in visitors and with them money for our economy as well as all the freight for import/export I doubt very much if there is another port entry/exit point that is more influential than Dover.

so for many reason it deserves and the people deserve more investment and support from the government NOW.
