  When you advertise for staff you are looking for people who can follow instructions. Most organisations, in their advertising, will say that they need people with specific qualifications and experience, and prescribe a particular way to apply. If it says you need a driving license and you haven't passed your test, forget it. If it says apply by email and you stuff a handwritten cv through the letterbox, forget it. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but it's the way we have always done it.
