Immigrant workers are very much a reality especially in the hotel trade. most of the hotels in London when I have stayed there seemed to be staffed in recent years by particularly eastern Europeans...like Polish, Rumanians etc and all very pleasant enjoying the job and glad of the work. Its a fact of life that the core social industries in London and no doubt spreading outwards to local towns are manned by non-locals.
Its just a fact. Why it is for sure is hard to say...the hours are long and the wages are low. Immigrants are prepared to work seemingly for long hours at low pay. Much the same as featured in that TV programme a while back about farm workers. The local guys turned up for 2 days and then didnt go back, the work was too hard and the wages were too low, said they...it was all documented live on camera.

Kent County Council figures show unemployment in Thanet is 6.2% of the population, compared with the South East average of 2.6%.

Mr Paul Andrews a noted recruitment consultant said that his firm had 500 unfilled jobs available in Thanet on Monday...

"There are some people that don't want to do them. And then
there are some people that can't do them but do want to do them."
