Just went to check out Dover Locals site and it appears to have been hacked.

Should that prove to be the case I am sure we all wish them a speedy recovery.

Apparently it was the server that had the problem but back to normal now with no adverse affects.

I have not posted over the last 2or 3 days on the locals, but it is a good forum and I hope they can get over this soon and get back on line.

It's a shame that it is down again, I hope all is repaired again soon. Sometimes I need to be able to post somewhere where there is no 'care in the community'.

We seem to be having a bit of a nightmare at the moment. Its a server wide issue so all sites hosted on the server are currently down such as crabble corn mill. The web hosting company have been working on the problem for the past 24 hours, as soon as they get it resolved, within 4 hours the hacker has managed to get back in.
Looks like could be another long night.

Ross has left out the middle part of the word Keith: starts with "F" end with "ing" - think about it.
It's a reference to the (generally) young people who enjoy hacking and destroying web-sites, computers, email addresses and laptops etc.

They certainly need to sort out their security, probably running old versions of software.

Back again this morning.

Yes Chris the server certainly needs to pull its finger out regarding security.

Looking into it a little more, it seems that lots of the servers being hosted by the company hosting doverlocals have been hacked, looks to be a php exploit. I think they're patching it very shortly so shouldn't be a problem for long.
