It appears that the Dover Locals Forum has disappeared from the interweb. Whilst not always the most active of forums, it provided a space that suited quite a lot of people. I hope that it is not gone for good.

From the message on the site, it appears that they have neglected to pay their hosting fees, or they might have been hacked again.

This forum is no longer the vibrant place it once was either.

Forums are only successful when there are a selection of thread starters, this forum had many and most have gone over the last year or so. Until others come in with opinions on matters then we will just watch a slow disintegration.

Any forum needs interesting and informative posts to survive numerous pointless posts can be as much of a killer as no new posts or threads.

Yes, unfortunately for a few days now, possibly because only a few of us were using it. The owner and the moderator could not even be bothered to post on there.

I have always wondered why anyone should want to run a forum if they have no interest in it.

In reply to my above comment it seems not for long as the B thing has gone again!
I wish they would sort themselves out either that or close it down completely so we know where we are..

I looked in a few weeks back and saw "sticky" threads that were 6 months old and that Graham Morris had changed pseudonyms again.
At one time both forums/fora were going great guns, this one is a lot slower than it was but "Locals" is almost comatose with the owner and moderator showing very little interest.
