Heard this morning that a new edition has come out with great photos of Dover in times gone by.

Yes indeed, picked one up a couple of days ago. Great then and now pictures, available from Town council reception and Graphic images castle st. Definately recommend.

I wish they were available in the supermarkets, so more people with mobility problems could get them.
Before I get jumped on this is just a suggestion.

Around 15 editions published now, the concept was always to highlight the positive aspects of the town. A lot of hard work goes into it I'm sure Jim and Jacob are delighted to hear the good reviews.

Yes, an excellent publication, well done!
Just one minor correction though. On the inside back page there are the young ladies physical training team. They are "pictured practising in the Prince of Wales Sea Training School in Princes Street". Actually it's at the Sea Cadets in what's now known as the King's Hall in London Road!
BTW my wife was once of Major Lohan's troupe, they practised in St Martin's church hall at Maxton!

Picked up a copy from Graphic Images in Castle street this morning. Been meaning to get a copy since before Christmas. I understand this is a special edition funded by Dover Town Council.
Plenty of photos of historic Dover - a lot with modern day comparisons. Also a map of the Pier District before the slum clearances that took place pre- and post WW1.
Excellent magazine - and it's FREE.

As far as i am aware the Town Council has always funded the publication.

I launched Dover Life, the funding of a private enterprise is nobody's business.

The missing posts were certainly not interesting just the usual personal remarks.
