Dover Harbour Board, owner and operator of the Port of Dover, has announced the appointment of Doug Bannister as Chief Executive. Doug has an extensive record of successful leadership in the maritime, aviation and ports sectors, and will take up his position by the beginning of March 2019.

To replace Tim Waggott, whose remuneration in 2016, including bonus(!) and pension contributions totalled £432,000! Just saying.

Certainly a good CV, I wonder if his family will relocate from Jersey?

Spot on Brian and I doubt he will be in a position to do much whatever the deal is. I do wonder if DHB need someone so highly qualified for the role as all the decisions over the Western Dock project were made by Timmy and all contracts pertaining to it have been handed out.

It's still possible for Brexit to arrive in a number of different forms that will significantly affect the ports and ferry operators and other port users. Plus DWDR is a big project and I'm not sure that all contracts have been let. So, much for a CEO to do, methinks.

Rather a lot for Dougie to do on his first day as it will be a year since the last incumbent left. Either he won't get through the door for the paperwork or the post is a sinecure.

Neither, I suspect. The Chairman has, with support, been acting as his own CEO, whilst the incoming CEO will bring experience of both boxport-land and the oddity of the Channel Islands fiscal status with him.
Wish I knew more about the States' political set-up.
