19:5628619this is a mystery to me.
subjects get raised of interest locally and there are hardly any replies.
we have enough issues to post about, a new poster p. sheratt raised the subject of the proposed new seafront, the new train has not really been talked about as it should, we had slam door carriages not very long ago.
i heard that the station was finally getting some work done on it?
the big screen is full of information of what to do in dover, details changing all the time.
i went past the other day and they were showing an interview with the grandson of louis bleriot.
things are slowly changing for the better, witness the arty farty stuff on some unused premises.
come on members(especially the quiet ones), give us your views.

19:5928622I think I should put my life story back on that will draw them back in.
I still think it is the good weather most of the public are still out and about, just wait till it is cold and raining and dark nights with nothing on the T.V. same old things most nights.

21:0828641I for one have not posted recently because it seems to be the same old talking nothing but the same old and arguing politics or running each other down for having an opinion that differs from theirs. I look in most days but rarely find anything interesting to comment on.

22:1628642Thats a shame Humphy cos I have always liked your succinct comments and observations on life.
I read the forum daily as it keeps me upto date with whats happening in my old town.

22:4928644I have not posted recently as I have had a number of family problems to deal with that take precedence, including my partner being diagnosed with a tumour in his lung and one of our local dragfoot junkie drunkard scumbags committing criminal damage to my front door.

07:4928651Sorry to hear that news Ross re your partner, hope he gets better real soon. Better days ahead eh?
Yes Ive tried something a bit different with this forum..sort of like an upgrade over standard forums, a Mark II if I can put it like that. Restricted membership that keeps away the rabble and moronic stuff we were destroyed with in the past. The idea was that we would have good debates/discussions on all the issues and know who we were talking to. As generally this restricted/named thing is a bit of a new idea, I cant tell if it will work over the long run...it might, then again it might not.
What we need though with the restricted club membership is more members to do their bit. Highly prized daily workhorses are the secret. Guys who do it everyday or every other day are really what makes it work. Popping in every two months would result in the popper inner finding it no longer here. Thats the fact of it.

08:0728654First of all Ross I wish your partner a full and speedy recovery.
I check in on my friends on the forum on a daily basis and to see whets going on. I can't comment on certain Dover related issues not living there, but try and keep me away from everything else! I have made some wonderful friends in Dover over the years and unlike another forum where I was treated very badly by certain members, DoverForum is a breath of fresh air. We have a laugh and joke, occasionally the political threads get a bit heated, but nobody is verbally attacked.
