    That's true JB. The club used to have a friendlier, more local feel, and it was easier then to experience a sense of belonging and be more forgiving of poor performances or results. You could say that the professionalisation of the club over the last few years has brought clear benefits: e.g. improved playing surface, improved player and supporter facilities, not having to play Corinthian Casuals or Deal Town etc. But the corporate set-up is alienating for some, and actually helps to produce a very different kind of supporter, one whose attachment is less familial and more akin to brand loyalty, more like a consumer (football is now an entertainment product after all). And, faced with a brand's falling standards, many consumers will simply stop buying it.
