I don't think any fan is realistically expecting League football any time soon, although that is Parmenter's publicly stated aim for the club. We do expect to see our team compete on the field, though, and for the last few seasons they have done. But something deeper's amiss, as the end of season walkouts suggest. We have ended up with players who for the most part belong in clubs in the divisions below National level. Why? Insufficient player budget? According to JP we are in the National's top 25%. If so, then it's down either to poor player judgement on CK's part, or to an unwillingness of the better players to come here. With CK's tactical monomania now increasingly on display match after depressing match, I'm beginning to think that perhaps he's lost the ability to think clearly about the game and that those two reasons are linked.
