The club's failure to retain players is a sign. The last two seasons have seen mass departures after the final match, and replacements have generally, to put it mildly, not been an improvement. There may be all sorts of reasons a player leaves one club for another, but our regular end-of-season exoduses suggest to me that there's something rotten in the state of Dover. I've no idea what this might be, or whether it's managerial, cultural, geographical, financial, or something else. One thing's for sure though, it's not the playing surface, which must be one of the best in the National League, and may be the best in National League South next season unless the club finds a solution sooner rather than later.
