Surely parking issues are now dealt with by DDC, the parking attendants would be better employed dealing with the type of problems raised on this thread than hanging around pay and display car parks waiting for tickets running out, helping the public rather than persecuting them.

this will be another football kicked around by the police and council.
the losers will be the general public again.

In Calais, if you park a UK registered car illegally, they used to put a notice on it in English informing you that 1. you have parked illegally, 2. we have made a note of your number and 3. you are not being penalised this time but 4. if you do it again you will get a ticket which is enforceable in the UK.
Given the number of continental motorists who get tickets in Dover as a result of failing to understand the local rules, I have in the past suggested that DDC should adopt the same policy. But apparently it is illegal here under EU law; I wonder why it is not illegal in France?

HOWARD/OTHERS
I do fully support your view, but you only have to take a look around every school in the District to find cars parked on double yellows, on pavements, around the roads, every morning and afternoon.

PETER;
I agree with you, if the French can do it, why not the UK

they do that outside my house mornings and afternoons keith.
this causes problems for traffic turning right out of clarendon street.
this must happen all over at the same times of day and the same places, i don't see any signs of parking attendants.

I AGREE howard, thats my point, of course then we get into the schools have to register with a kcc dept to enable parking attendents to be able to take any action.
what a laugh all this is, if it wasn't so serious

HOWARD;
Yes, as if things are not complicated enough, theres this further problem of schools having to register the school as i say with the kcc dept, to enable officrs to be able to take action outside schools, thus why you dont see them there.
