i wonder if our susan's pooch will win the dog show again this year?
a bit unfair last year as her american pit bull ate all the other competitors.

I've told DTC that this and the Maison Dieu House part of the Christmas Lights Switch-On will will be the last major events that I will do for them. I'm afraid that arthritis is getting the better of me.
I'll still do the "Heritage" things, Remembrance Sunday, St George's Day etc, but shinning up lamp-posts is getting beyond me.,
So, please turn out on Saturday, look at the animals and take part in the boat race!

That's a shame Terry, but I can understand - climbing up lamposts can't be good for anyone.
I've sent round an email about DTC Pet Mania as well as mentioning the Paper Boat Race, along with other information.
I agree that with all the good work/voluntary work Terry has done, including the hospital radio for 40 years etc. that a suitable gong - MBE/CBE/CDM or whatever is appropriate should be given.
Where do you get the forms from ? I seem to remember investigating this a couple of years or so ago.

That would mean kneeling before HMQ Mark, something I definitely wouldn't, and with my knees, couldn't do!

some interesting specimena in the birds of prey area, getting them to pose for snaps was nigh on impossible though.

these patagonian rodents are closely related to the capybaras that were on the howletts thread.
awards were being handed out here in what appeared to be a disobedience competition.
here we have a bassett hound of rather many years that i thought was the most eye catching nimal of them all.

the yorkie pictured took a shine to the st bernard, could be logistical problems though.
an overdressed budgie i believe here.
this little chap is a prairie dog, had to take 4 shots before the hyper active little creature stayed still.

It was a good day - 4 boat races - and pleasingly a young local lad won the £50 on offer for the fastest time
Also the LRCF book stall did pretty good business all day
Overall a great event - hope the Town Council run it again next yearr
