Stage 1 switchover for Dover today. Analogue BBC Two signal is switched off permanently.
We have retuned our TV as directed but all analogue channels have gone, not just BBC2.
Anyone else done their TV yet and can report on result?
We have freeview and freesat so it isn't really a problem for us. The only difference it makes is that we can't watch analogue whilst recording 2 programmes with out freesat box as we could before. Can now only record one programme.

We've only lost analogue BBC2 all the others are there. Digital BBC1 and BBC2 signals were very low this morning but seem to have improved now.

We seem to have got them all back now (except BBC2).
BBC1 has moved from channel 1 to channel 6.

Sue, surely you can watch Freeview while recording two programmes on Freesat?
I have only Freeview, that I watch via a PVR never using the TV Freeview tuner. I have to say that I don't think I have ever had a programme on 3 channels I want to see that clash!!

Barry it depends on the kind of box you have, my old V box does not record but my daughter's all singing one does record. I use the catch-up facility on the very rare occasion there are two clashing programmes.

We have a V+ box and although its rare we need to record more than one programme at a time it came in handy last
night as NCIS on CBS channel and CSI on Channel 5 both started at 9pm. Also my night shift starts at 10pm so will be able to see both programmes now.

Barry, I think you are right and that I was confused as at one time we couldn't get a watchable freeview signal which is why we needed analogue.
We have a Humax Foxsat HDR Freesat+ box.
Will be testing it all out but in the meantime can anyone please confirm that with this box we can record 2 freesat programmes and watch one on freeview and that we can record 2 freesat programmes whilst playing back a recording?
I agree, the need to do the above is pretty rare!

when i turned the box on this morning as expected there was nothing so i pressed set up and ended up with a few analogue channels in the wrong places and no teletext.
went out returned an hour or so later, tried set up and all was well.
plenty of help in town today for those having problems.

Sue
I use a Humax PVR for Freeview (just got myself a new high def one) and if Freesat works the same as mine then yes, you can record two at once and watch a recording at the same time. You may be able to record two and watch one as well as long as the station you are watching is on the same 'mux' I think its called, a bit limiting but might be handy.
If your TV has an inbuilt Freeview tuner with a rooftop aerial plugged in the you can watch Freeview independently of whatever is going on in the Freesat box. f no in built tuner then a cheap set top box plugged in would help you do the same via an aerial.

Many thanks for your help, Barry.
Have been testing out the various combinations of watching and recording this afternoon and it's looking good.

After 10 minutes 'trying to do something clever' I lost ALL the BBC channels. Later this morning I had another go and they are all back now, as they should be ! Excellent
(I could not tell you what I did though ! But it worked eventually !)

Seems to be affecting a lot of people differently, some nearer Maidstone seem to be having real problems with all BBC channels.

Switched to cable years ago so never even noticed! However, did help out a neighbour a couple of weeks ago so will have to check tomorrow that everything is okay with his freeview-enabled tele.

Isn't today re-tune to bring in the HD channels?
I thought the analogue signal was switched off two weeks ago.

No I've still been getting analogue BarryW..however I retuned early this morning and they do appear to be gone as of now. So it looks like its all over for analogue. Very often I couldnt/cant get digital pictures and many a day has been saved by analogue...football matches and so on. But it appears they are gone now.
