Nice to see what's going on in Deal, very relevant on a Dover forum....

I've always thought the forum covered Dover District? Perhaps I was wrong.
Grateful for clarification.

Thanks for suggesting I'm stupid, but coming from you Sue it doesn't surprise me after we locked horns about your perceived support for Charlie on that other thread.
I'm merely suggesting that posts about Deal have no relevance in a specific Dover forum? Please don't start suggesting I'm picking on people because of where they live because that is offensive on so many levels.
I'm not suggesting that people shouldn't post just because they live elsewhere, I'm just suggesting that it isn't relevant on a thread about Dover?
It is indeed a very friendly forum but not helped when you stir up suggestions that I'm trying to alienate people which is not true.
If I have misunderstood the idea of a Dover forum, then I'll happily start posting about activity in Sandwich and Deal in the Dover thread because I have lots of great photos of that area but probably not relevant for my "Beautiful Dover" thread unless we follow your thinking?
I actually think that despite the fact that we don't agree all of the time, the Captain has a fantastic sense of humour and welcome his posts.

It's great to see the market in Deal doing so well. I think what they are getting right is avoiding most of DDC's attention and don't suffer from the years of white elephant schemes and incompetence.
The millions being spent on Dover market square could have been better spent on helping bring life back to our market and supporting traders.

Probably Mine Bob. It could be back there early Tuesday. Free period obviously.
Now in its heyday Howard used to recognise Deal & photographed it regularly.
Presumably under some present posters criteria River, Whitfield & Guston should be out. Oh , that might limit current items that others want to promote.
As an original member prior to Paul B in Rick’s day, it might be time to retire if Chris has limited geographical content.

I think it's been misunderstood
Having the councils boundaries has in sure Been accepted over the years ,
It is difficult though when individuals decide they only like there own views , which happens from time to time .
I have always said Deal and Walmer have always prospered .

Since I joined all those years ago there have always been references to the rest of the district although back then most comments were about Dover. Now most of the comments are serious narrow minded or even blinkered views with not so much friendly banter or even humour.
It is really sad that so few bother to post but not exactly surprising.

I should just add before someone posts a sarky reply, my previous comment was not aimed at anyone in particular it was simply a generalised view of how things have changed especially in the last couple of years or so.
I also believe many of us are more stressed than usual for all sorts of different reasons so our tolerance levels are lower.

I think quite a number posted over the years going right back to the Ricky days .
But I recall as a councillor as soon as I posted anything no matter how positive or informative it was immediately attacked ..
Over the years rather than encourage debate it appears individual points of view took over and often without any different views being encouraged .
But there is a bright side , the forum continues and there are some post fairly often.
Also differences of opinion can be overcome .
Maybe an example of this ,
Over the years I have worked closely with Sue on a number of subjects , no mire so than public transport .our politics are poles apart but it's important then go find things we can agree upon .
It's fair to say that on public transport we have been one voice so it can happen .
That's not to say we don't disagree on other issues but hopefully we respect this of each other
