Sorry DT1 that's not true at all.
The country as a whole benefits from the well-being of the individuals, but of course it is the individuals who make up the whole (of society and the Country).
If the Country is made up of hard-working, honest, law-abiding citizens then it will be "healthier" (in every way) than if it is made up of lazy, useless, dishonest, people - and it is trying to increase the first type and reduce the second sort, that's difficult.
Maggie or the Conservatives didn't (and don't) make people lazy or dishonest, they try to encourage exactly the opposite mind-set.
Good to see you last night, pity Barry hogged you all night (that's not a euphamism for anything untoward, or a mis-spelling !!)

I totally agree, and yes it would be difficult to reduce the aristocracy.
