I am literally appalled at this story, Brivio was to blame for this incident, It was HER who put her fingers into the letterbox, promoting herself in a political campaign. This dog was protecting its owners space! Not only her foolhardyness of trespassing on someone elses property. The image in the paper is NOT of the actual dog, which is quite wrong, in my opinion.
However Brivio was not satisfied with just having the dog destroyed, she then takes the matter to Court, whereby she has instilled so much stress to a person needlessly; threatening a jail sentence to a harworking member of public. (who incidentally) is coughing up for Ms Brivio's lunches out and expenses as a Town Councillor. You Ms.Brivio should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe a good idea to stop trespassing on peoples property, the Bin men don't even do this..... just saying. ps. do NOT come near my property with your campaign leaflets. and as a suggestion obtain a copy from the postal services of the 'must take notice-dog alert' notice when you next go out campaigning for votes.

Mrs Brivio was not trespassing unless you make post persons, election leafletters and pizza menu delivers equally guilty. When I have had dogs installed a basket against the letter box as no can resist a finger or two. Thankfully we don't live in North Korea so politicians of all parties can knock on doors and/or deliver leaflets.
The police had the dog destroyed and I don't know whether it was them or Mrs Brivio that pressed charges. Town councillors do not get lunch expenses incidentally.

No qualms about the dog being destroyed, its a banned breed for a reason,
I would take umbrage with Pam if she had pushed the prosecution but I suspect that would have been the cps, no sympathy with either side on this one.

Beg to differ Howard McSweeney, just WHO pays for Town Councillors to attend Christmas festivities, which I think includes either lunch/dinner! Oh yes, Joe Public :o(

Isn't that one of the perks of representing your constituents at these functions,
I believe the queen gets a free meal as well when on a state visit, though she did buy her own on Friday,

They get set expenses of around £500 a year and that is it, the full figures are in the public domain.

Here we go again yet another couple of anti Brivio anti DTC posts.
I agree with Reginald, unless it was a private prosecution it would have been the police and CPS who instigated the court case not Pam Brivio.

As you say Jan, here we go again. I was delivering the local Tower Hamlets Forum newsletter, nothing political. The flap to the letter box was stiff, and I lifted it with my finger to go to put leaflet through with other hand. There had been no indication there was a dog inside, totally quiet, no signage. I had half of the finger bitten off and required surgery. Discovered a few days later from our local postman that they are not allowed to deliver post to the address because had become aware of the dog. If you have to collect your mail I think you would realise you had a problem. I knew nothing about the fate of the dog until I was informed by the police and yes was a CPS prosecution. The court obviously felt it was a serious matter, again nothing to do with me, I was not even there. if all the people both here and on social media who are making these very distressing statements about me actually saw the damage and got their facts rights, then may feel differently and think about how they would feel if it had happened to them.

Dover Express have taken down the link on their Facebook page after a large number of complaints. It must be about time they moderated their threads instead of leaving vile comments made by the usual trolls. The mercury is not much better with their Kent Online site.

I would like to see evidence of this finger bitten off it prob was a case of tip of finger lost because of the letter box being a tight fit for fingers and when withdrawing the said finger, hastily the small tip was cut off by the letterbox! Hence the no blood visible on the inside of door, poor dog was destroyed, by her stupidity

Apparently it was a third of the finger and I remember at the time the victim went to the nearest A & E and was transferred to a specialist unit at a hospital in either Surrey or Sussex so hardly a scratch.

If I could work out to,post a photo I would post one of my hand and then perhaps post 12 would believe the seriousness of the incidence, the dog bit right through the finger, hence the need to have an operation. Out of interest you might like to know that the incident happened at 4.30 p.m. And the owner returned home after 11.00 p.m. Rather a long time for a dog to be left.

Well said Paul, seems there is no end to the bitching and only shows the nasty character of the writer.

Here you go Pam, picture ripped from Dover Express.
I think Ritaroo needs to -
1) apologise to you
2) Google the law regarding Implied Right of Access
3) sit on the naughty step for a few weeks.

Post 18 sums up nicely the cretinous trolls that have invaded the forum, his/her tiny brain cannot understand that Mrs Brivio has not made it an issue and has simply corrected facts, one of which we can see in post 17.
Call me Mr difficult but I would not be happy if people poked fun at me having a part of my anatomy bitten off when I was innocently going around doing voluntary work.
