Went to quite an interesting talk last year at the Dover Society when the recycling was talked about.
Overall with a joined up working (I think with Shepway with the option of taking on Thanet when their contract is up) the new service will make a saving towards all of the budget cuts that have been imposed on the councils, and better meet the reycling targets. To me it makes sense to have it all properly coordinated and recycles properly.
Can't understand why people moan when they are not working with other authorities and then knock them when they try and do something about !!!
I will moan though...... the binmen can collect our black bags from the top of our path (50ft along a flat pavement) but the same people refuse to pick up the recycling from the same place and we have to take it to the other end of the path
