Crime is continuing to fall in Kent, according to the latest Home Office statistics.
Between July and September last year there were 6,099 less crimes than in the same period in 2008 - a reduction of 11.9 per cent.
There were also 15,000 less crimes between October 2008 and September 2009 than there were between October 2007 and September 2008.
Assistant Chief Constable Gary Beautridge said: "Overall crime continues to drop across the county.
"We have continued to see a rise in drug offences, which shows we are taking this type of crime seriously by executing search warrants and bringing offenders to justice."
The figures also show there were 515 fewer burglaries between July and September last year (a 15.6 per cent drop), 1,842 less cases of criminal damage (25.4 per cent drop) and 356 fewer fraud and forgery crimes (28.2 per cent).
British Crime Survey results for the rolling year also show that public confidence in Kent Police is up from 44.2 per cent to 48 per cent.
ACC Beautridge put part of this increase down to feedback cards issued to members of the public who have required the force's service.
FWIW Crabble would appear to be the Dover 'hot spot' for crime. Countless times I have heard people say 'we were robbed at Crabble last Saturday'.
