    Deal station's Platform 1 cafe gets in the swing of all things festive this week with the big-switch on of its Christmas tree.

    Cafe co-owner Nick Stevens will be flicking the switch on the wall socket in a star-studded opening ceremony featuring his brother Andy, coffee machine supremo/father-in-law Dave and, possibly, a couple of blokes who work in the ticket office plus Neil from the car park.

    And that's just the start of Platform 1's festive celebrations, with fab slabs of Bandstand Bakery Christmas cake and lovely mince pies for sale, adding a seasonal flavour to your epic journeys to Dover Priory, Ramsgate and other famous destinations.
