Should be great for families with young children if it is a clear night.

Just for information, the Father Christmas Event at Crabble Corn Mill for all three Sundays 6th, 13th & 20th is completely Sold Out.
We did it by pre selling the tickets this year and it has worked well, in that all the tickets have gone, So sorry to say we NOT be able to let any non ticket holders in.
Thank You to all those who have supported the event.

My neck of the woods is not on the fire persons visiting list, hopefully not because of the unfortunate incident last year when the sleigh ended up on a pile of bricks.

I have not seen anything anywhere about East Kent Railway regarding their Father Christmas trip, I assume it is happening this year at some time or another.

Went past the Rack of Ale earlier and there was a sign up advertising a beer festival there, started yesterday and finishing tomorrow.

Doubt that it will be any better today with the awful wind, was in Folkestone earlier they had a few stalls out and because of the width of the pedestrian precinct a few fairground rides.

The weather brought out 3 new traders to add to the three originals today.

How is this and any similar markets normally publicised? Usually a story in the paper or anything else?

All a bit involved Ian, Dover Town Team and Dover Bluebird Market have their own Facebook pages, the market started well a few years back then fell away and there were calls for a market manager but there was insufficient funding as it's only volunteers that run both groups. My understanding is that there is now a market manager but communication could be better. On the latter's Facebook page there have been regular updates but nobody has answered my question from March as to when the market would reopen for the Summer.

Despite all the good intentions the market has little to draw the public for the past year or so.
The under publicised and rather dismal Christmas market has done little to get more trade for the few stall holders that did bother to turn up.
