I suppose one positive of having flats over the Charlton Centre would be the extra security, more people around, when the shops are all closed.
A pity all the other empty space above shops in the town can't be put into better use in a similar way.

Trouble is that more often than not, those occupying Town-Centre flats are not an asset to the Town and in many instances, are the ones causing the problem.

I think we do need to look the folkestone road to see what BAD PLANNING does for an area.

Trouble is Keith that those past mistakes cannot be undone unless the owners of the buildings decide to put the tiny boxes back as one house and that's as likely as me taking a boxing-day dip.

I've already booked you and PaulB for the dip Roger, don't tell me you've changed your mind already

Yeah right.
And I suppose you've got PaulB down to wear a Mankini too ??. No chance.

Was half hoping for the end of the Charlton Centre and/or the area behind it, so something new could go there (after a 20/30 year wait)
But it was just a car

I hear that some of the local youth set fire to an abandoned car and the tank exploded.

The upper levels of the car park are in a pretty run down state, there has been problems with fly tipping and abandoned scrap cars on the top levels apart from the vandalism. As for the explosion i reckon it was probably one of the tyres blowing.
