As a parish cllr I will say on most parish councils,we do not get any payment,we do not do it for that, but would I take it if it was there? it is a big yes to that, lot of time and some fuel and writing paper stamps etc must be paid for.
That does not mean I would do it just for the payment, that would not be true, but as I said if it came my way I would have it.
The workload of a parish cllr is going up and up,and the paper and reading work and the meetings are taking alot longer now then five years ago.I can see it coming soon infact you see it now, that councils are not geting the cllrs they need to keep the parish going and the few that are there are doing even more work.I would like to see less parish councils that might help.
