20:2881343Red Ed Miliband hates being called Red Ed, so they say.
But, whats this? His Shadow Chancellor calls him Red....
So it seems this slip-up reveals that even Cabinet colleagues refer to 'Red' for Ed....

08:0681396Freudian slip perhaps Brian - they and we, all know he is as red as can be, driven/directed by the unions who put him there.

09:0181405Well indeed he did, I saw this live as it happened and yes a bit of a clanger. But then Ed has acquired the nickname because he was elected through the voice and power of the trade unions....and all those Tory supporting newsppaers like The Sun gave him the Red Ed title as a consequence. Cleary some of it has stuck with his colleagues. But then...it might just be a term of endearment to call him Red !!
However the real problem for Labour here is the lack of momentum in his leadership. He seemed to start off well at Prime Ministers Questions and so on, wrongfooting supersmoothie Cameron by his direct approach which was refreshing....but this promptly followed by a period of absence due to maternity leave and the momentum was gone.
He is now back and we will see if he can impact. PMQ today could be revealing.

09:1981407We also know DC is Blue and driven/directed by the Bankers & the Rich, who put him there.
Whats the difference?

10:5081423the fact of the matter is that red ed is trying to change the rules so that the unions do not get a say in any future leadership contest.
this should start some internal feuding.

14:0681433without doubt red ed as he is being called is far from the left wing tag hes being given.
hes there as leader and like cameron before him, hes re modeling the part, ep there will be unsavoury issues to adrdress but he also recognises that we cannot afford this cobbled together govt much longer.
One interesting point that the BBC picked up on at todas prime minister question time, was how bored nick clegg looked, usual hes up there agreeing with his new chum david.
today he sat there glum faced and didnt agree once or show any enthusiasm for his new buddy

14:3281442agree with you keith, he will stamp his own style on the party, whether it is successful or not we will not know for a few years.

16:1581458Yes Keef I saw the discussion re Nick Cleggs boredom. However it may be more real concern than boredom, knowing that once again thousands of students are on the streets of London, specifically brought out there by his swivelling snivelling about turn. 'When is a pledge not a promise' said one Labour MP today. Clegg is beginning to feel the pressure. Life was good for him as Libdem leader but in government it has been hell.
One student banner read "The Fibdems!" Fib is too polite a word.
But back to Red Ed. Allan Johnson called him Red by mistake as we've said...adding an extra R. But there seems to be lots of extra R's about, as today in Prime Ministers Questions, the Prime Minister called Prostate Cancer..Prostrate Cancer...an R too many there too.
It must be an epidemic.

19:2481491Do you really think people will be daft enough to trust your lot again with the economy so soon after getting us in this mess?
13 years of economic mismanagement will not be forgiven easily.
If you are lucky you might only end up with 9/10 years in the wilderness but hopefully a lot longer Keith.

08:3681566I hope it's a fact Brian.
How anyone can (anymore) believe that Labour are a party fit to Govern beats me. The dishonesty and incompetance and now the denial of responsibility, is on such a grand-scale, it beggers belief.
