    Hi All,

The below is taken from the Government's own guidelines on the commercial washing of vehicles, that might explain things a little clearer:

"Effluent and run-off from vehicle washing and cleaning activities can damage the environment and pollute rivers, streams, burns and groundwater. Dirt, brake dust, traffic film residue and oil that is washed off are all pollutants. The cleaning agents used (including those labelled biodegradable or traffic film removers) are very poisonous to river life. If you cause pollution, you are breaking the law and spoiling your environment. Dirty water or run-off from vehicle washing and cleaning carried out as a business or industrial activity is called trade effluent. Whether you’re cleaning just one vehicle or responsible for a large lorry fleet, you must arrange for collection and disposal of effluent to prevent pollution. It’s illegal to discharge trade effluent to the environment or into drains"

As I have mentioned in past posts, we had the toxic waste water runoff slurry, also known as "Trade Effluent", from the Ramyar Car Wash analysed in the laboratory by SOCOTEC, a highly respected company in the field of Toxic Hazardous Waste analysis.

Their report showed that the toxic waste water runoff slurry from Ramyar Car Wash fell under the class of Hazardous Waste containing CARCINOGENIC and MUTAGENIC substances in levels that made the waste under UK law classed as Hazardous and thus needing to be disposed of as the law proscribes.

Mr Karim knowingly does not do this, so not only is Mr Karim breaking the law, he is knowingly endangering the long term health of his own workers and that of the public, and not only that, he is endangering the Environment not only for all of us now, but also for all our children and their children.
