At least DDC are sticking to what they are best at- building and running car parks.

Been going on for over a week now Brian, I don't think Neil will be happy until the whole town is flattened. I haven't left the house for a fortnight just in case it isn't there when I get back.

Well at least Neil and Dover Demolition are starting to take this town forward. Removing the old eyesores which have been standing in the way of bringing this town into the modern world.
Good on you Neil and the Team at Dover Demolition.

Stu , I would put it another way. Well done the property owners who are spending their money to give Neil & locals the work.
Don't think Neil is doing this 'out of the goodness of his heart' despite his local connections & loyalties.
Glad he is getting some major local contracts, he's works hard.

At least the contract has stayed local meaning more money stays in the area rather than going to imported workers.

More dodgy dealings by Dover District Council - sooner or later it will catch up with them. There is a very good reason why Network Rail dropped this like a lead balloon.

On the surface it just looks as if Network Rail are messing everybody about by announcing they were building the car park with shops then 3 years later saying the opposite as it would be too expensive.

Interesting comments from His Majesty the Mayor. I believe car parking charges in the district are the lowest in East Kent but nobody likes to pay any amount if they can park free of charge.
I think a trial run of an hours free parking may just give a boost to the town centre businesses.

Afraid the 'facts' suggest otherwise Howard. Differentially priced parking is the scientific way forward:-

So, is the car park ever going to be built?
I wonder if it's free parking for the vehicles parked there?
