Just seen some photo's on Facebook showing a car on it's roof on the pavement across the road from Iceland's. Aparently the driver ran off. Hope they catch the idiot and lock him up...

Don't know anymore. Just that he ran off. It doesn't look like anyone was hurt. Bloody lucky, that's normally a pretty busy bit of pavement.

Drunk man and or boy racer more likely.
Thank goodness it happened on a Sunday as Gary says that bit of pavement is normally very busy.

Did the Dover Express just copy from the title of this thread? The accident being on the High Street not London Road.

Reg, Gary and Keith in the first five posts referred to the driver as 'him' maybe I should have used the word 'male'.

There is a lamp post right outside the Age Concern shop (we occasionally stuck notices on it) so I assume that is the one referred to in the Kent on Line report.

This was no Police chase, it was a lunatic driving as dangerously through town as I have ever witnessed. Michelle and I had just finished putting our stuff away at the office having been trading at Aldington all day when this maniac came thundering down Frith Road at a speed which had to be seen to be believed, and nearly took the front of my car off. Held at the lights at the bottom of Frith Road/Bridge Street, he was trying to egg on the bloke in the next lane for a race, but he'd have nothing to do with it. He went haring away from the lights at breakneck speed. This must have been moments before the crash, it was about 5.35/5.40 pm.
Driving at that speed is inexcusable in a built-up area, he was endangering life, it was THAT dangerous. Let us hope that the bloke is found and locked up for a long time. His licence should also be revoked, never to be returned.
True friends stab you in the front.
