Can any of the Forumites shed some light on what we saw today. At about 16:45 we were driving to the traffic lights at the bottom of Maison Dieu when a Police outrider stopped the cars.Following close behind him, coming down Castle Hill were another 7 Police outriders escorting two vehicles with flashing blue bottom lights. These in turn were followed by 2 Land Rovers full of fully kitted Police S.W.A.T. teams, this was then followed by a large blacked out transit van driven by a member of the Police. Finally coming up the rear was another vehicle in the convoy. They all swept down Woolcomber Street and the on up York Street. If anyone else has mentioned this I do apologise, but it did look as though some heavy duty activity was going down.

It just surprised me how intense it was. These individuals were either very, very important or the important individual was very frightened for their own safety.

I feel like 'Alice in Wonderland',but with a beard,'curiouser and curiouser'.Why come down Castle hill, why drive through the town in an elaborate convoy. If it has happened twice there is definatley more to this.

I too spotted the convoy on the A2 heading out of Dover.
There has been a rape of an 82 year old lady on the Aycliffe estate day before yesterday by a Slovak so i am lead to believe the man was arrested may be he was being transported if i here more will post.

doubt that is the reason alan, these convoys have been going on for days as the thread details.
