    Yes, you are right Captain Craddock. There is a 2 year provision for alternative arrangements to be implemented. It's not very long though, is it? And it's much easier for the French to resume the former status than it is for us Brits. They're policing the port of departure, not entry.

    The French authorities would be no where near as bothered as you surmise. I've had this argument with countless local Tories who simply don't understand the situation. You need to brush up on your "Ch'ti" and get some real opinions from real Calaisiens. Rightly or wrongly, they cannot see the current situation worsening. They see immigration as a European problem in which we play very liitle part. Yes - the ferries in particular will be swamped with ticket carrying immigrants and so would the tunnel to a lesser extent. And we'll keep levying our £2000 per person fines and nothing will change. Brexit has only added to the weight of French sentiments.
