CALAIS EMGERENCY ACCOMODATION CENTRES CLOSED.
Tonight the emergency accommodation centres have been closed in Calais. It is freezing, with forecast for heavy rain. There are 260 people that could get a warm bed and safety tonight.
PLEASE send an email to the prefecture NOW to put immediate pressure on authorities to reopen the centres tonight and for the coming winter months.

For the nights from 27 to 29 December 2017, you opened an emergency accommodation for people sleeping in the streets and under-Woods of Calais. It is proof that it is possible to protect these people. But at 19 last night, all these accommodations were full. People who wish to be protected must have stayed on the street. In Calais, wet cold, snow, wind and mud are ruthless for people who survive outside. We ask for a reaction adapted to these unworthy conditions: Accommodation with a capacity of 600 places for at least every night of this winter.
It is the duty of the state with its departments to Protect Minors, irrespective of their nationality.
It is the duty of the state to take charge of Asylum-seekers, with a request for asylum, in reception centres for asylum seekers. It's the state's duty to protect people who sleep on the street. On 27 July, President Emmanuel Macron said: " I do not want to have men and women on the streets in the woods by the end of the year. I want emergency accommodations everywhere."
Every night, in Calais, men, women and children continue to risk dying of cold.
Mr Prefect of the pas-de-Calais, the means exist. Emergency Accommodation, containers for women and children, building street huts for men must continue to be open every night this winter. Other buildings must be opened so that the 600 people who currently survive in calais can have a shelter
