Cameron grovelling to china
Is there no end to this fools grovelling to this country
There nothing we make or produce that this country will not copy and produce for them selves cheaper.
A free trade deal on a level playing field is fantasy.
And he's probably out there handing out visas like confetti

Oh yeah..... ignore the biggest developing consumer market in the world desperate to develop service industries where we are the world leader.
Keith - you want out of the EU as do I but you also want to isolate us from the rest of the world - that is the way to economic disaster. If anything such a trip should have been made a few years ago.
You have to understand how the Chinese economy is developing and how consumer power is growing there. We need to trade and take advantage of this, it would be totally mad to ignore it.

as the chinese get wealthier they will want to buy upmarket consumer goods that they do not currently manufacture so it is best that the u.k get a foothold before others.

Barry you do not understand Asian culture ,you have to have lived among them to understand them
They will develop there own financial service, they will study then copy,
then cut you out. Protectionism of there markets is inbuilt in there thinking
You can only deal with them on a level playing field if they respect you,
I do not want a closed country but it must be a 2 way street, this will never happen grovelling to them and accepting deals on there terms only.
The west have been to soft with china over trade and currency

Heads in the sand lads, UKIP is on the case
What absolute piffle Keith B, the Asian market is the largest market on the planet, yet we should ignore it? Both the USA and USSR had made use of, and copied British Technology, but we still trade with them.

Cameron doesn't really think things through, does he, especially on the world stage.
Despite the HS2 enabling bill there is still no guarantee that this white elephant will actually be built (We can only hope).
So off he trots with, ahem, business leaders to China and tells the Chinese that they might somehow take part in the project. So he has made us a hostage to fortune if the project is dumped as being pointless and too expensive. One can only imagine the conversation the following day:
"Er, hi, erm you know that railway deal we talked about, it's, well, er, it's not quite going ahead Mr. erm, Mr. Leqiang. Oh that nuclear power plant, it's, it's, well there's a problem with that too."
Expect Cameron's position from now on to be one where critics of HS2 will be told that to scrap the idea would put in peril trade between the UK and China.
Whoever his advisors are deserve the sack. An absolutely useless negotiating position. Even Miliband could have done a better job and that's saying something.
So when Cameron was quoted as saying "So, I think you can see that Britain is probably the most - one of the most open countries in the world in terms of welcoming Chinese investment."
what he really meant was,
"So, I think you can see that Britain is probably the most - one of the most open countries in the world giving up on encouraging our entrepreneurship and allowing foreign companies to run everything vital to our economy".

A market is only open when it's open
China will not pay for luxury goods if it can manufacture it them selves.
You can get a copied Harley Davison for a third of the price in china and there selling them all over Asia.
China will not open its markets ,,it wont even open up its government
It is a nationalist totalitarian state . forget socialism or reasonable business environment,, its nonexistent in china
I have seen mass rioting in Asia over the opening of a Tesco's store.
Go open a shop or start a business, you will have to pay every body to operate your business , From the police ,politicians ,and mafia,
Howard
We do see spending in the west end by tourists ,this will not balance the trade deficit with china
Uk trade deficit last year over £100 billion

Keith - you fail at the first hurdle - the Chinese consumers are buying luxury British goods from cars to tea, yes that right, a British tea company is selling their luxury product to China.
You are well behind the curve in what is happening in that market.
We are seeing an essential change in the Chinese market moving from capital investment led growth to a consumer economy with consumer led growth. This is a healthy development for the UK.
Did you know that some regions of China have a labour shortage and are important labour from other parts of Asia.
Did you also know that wage are significantly increasing in China and that is pushing up consumer demand - a great development for the UK.
The old China you harp in about is a thing of the past alongside the old Communist ideology - they are now the most capitalist of all countries and their consumers are starting to reap the benefit as can we. We have some lessons to learn from them about freeing the markets and allowing business to compete while they still need to learn more about an open government - that will come and is an increasing force.

indeed keith the main problem is having our prime minister in charge who is known to be not very good with foreign people and tends to offend them.
i can picture him leading his entourage into a sumptuous traditional chinese banquet and shouting something like "oy mao tse tung, give us the set meal for 20 with side dishes of 32, 19 and 46".

Brian, whilst that`s not a bad bit of business that we should turn down, it does somewhat prove however Keith`s point when he says that "they will study then copy, then cut you out." That`s exactly what will happen here I guess once they have replicated a decent breed of pigs?
