Skinner was simply exercising his right to ask, on our behalf, a quastion of the PM, and given that it was PMQs that would seem appropriate.
How discourteous! Is this how our Prime Minister encourages respect for Elders? Outrageous! - 30 April 2012 20:11169593the dinosaur bit is ok but the take his pension bit is thoroughly unpleasant and not befitting a prime minister.

ALL POSTS ARE MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWS - 1 May 2012 07:05169651Well we all know dont we...what the world hates most of all is a smartarse...and on this matter yesterday Cameron was the ultimate smartarse. He uttered the cheapest of cheap shots at pensioners or those at or near pensioner age. Those people of a certain age who are trying to hold on to jobs and keep working have just been humiliated.
But now these hard workers throughout the land, and Dennis Skinner among them, are all ready now to have the Prime Minister's nasty quote hurled at them. It is true it wont bother Dennis Skinner, he has been through thick and thin, but it was fairly nasty and produced groans of disapproval from all sides.
Cameron is good at PR. He comes on TV regularly to show how caring he is, how he is doing what's best for the country..he is good at the cosy chat on Andrew Marr for example, but at questions in The House some or much of the veneer slips off and he exposes what he is really like.
It is beginning to look like Cameron is rattled. In comparison his rival across the table Ed Miliband is beginning to look ever more dignified with his cool suits, quiet demeanour, and flash of grey hair. Cameron's eternal response to Ed Miliband as being "weak" is beginning to look....ermmm weak!
We spoke recently about Dennis, that's him in the picture right, as being a bit of a legend by now..getting older its true, perhaps even a dinosaur from the old days, but the last of an excellent dying breed. Far from rattled Cameron put on a sure footed performance.
As for Skinner - yes he loves handing it out and there is no-one so rude (and ignorant in every sense) and insulting than Skinner so he should be able to take it and good for DC for handing it back. Skinner asked for it.
That said - yes I also agree with those who say Skinner is a character and we need more of those on both sides of the House. - 1 May 2012 07:44169659No, it is not good enough to say he was asking for it. That sounds a little too sleazy for my liking. Cameron sent a bad message about how to treat elders with that smartarse reply, displaying discourtesy and smarminess of the highest order. Bad PR and bad manners.
