    Brian I think your post #25 has hit the nail on the head. Nothing to do with communication between DHB and Police, it's all about resources. Martin raises a valid point but you cAnnot justify a set of Officers on standby 'just in case'. Compared to what it used to be like the traffic does not back up that often.

    PaulB you are right. Bank holiday weekends always see busy tourist traffic in the morning. Unfortunately the lorries get caught up in it and end up backing up.
