By chance I came across the Radio 2 play late last night, Crying, Waiting, Hoping ...The Hour the Music Died, following the 24-day tour through the frozen Midwest states with performers shivering in their unheated coach. Then Buddy Holly abandoning the coach, chartering a plane which takes him, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper to their deaths. Excellent documentary
