Over 100 people injured, I think about 29 dead.
No one has said who set the bombs off.

But who did the terrible deed?
It would be wrong to just assume that it is Islamic terrorists though they must be a prime suspect. It could just as easily be some of the home-grown nutters such as those responsible for the attack on the Federal building some years ago in Oklahoma.

And they shouldn't David, but as far as I'm aware, they don't yet know who or what groups did this.

I guess its wrong to assume, either way there'll be recriminations

usually islamic terrorist groups are quick to claim responsibility.

I have heard that a few unexploded devices have also been found, these at least could give clues as to who is responsible.
I think it reasonable to assume that things there are still pretty chaotic, and this is why my friend has not got back to me.

The main points;
There were only two devices, (suspect packages were dealt with)
Nothing is being said about arrests or the sophistication of the devices. (nobody is in custody).

It's interesting that this 19 year old is aware of what is going on by listening to the police radio. In this country it's impossible, we are way ahead of the Americans.
