just a quick word of warning before burning furniture, a lot of flame retardant material will give off really nasty fumes, which can cause all sort's of breathing problems in people. Do be careful.

Another thing it will most likely stink the area out. I suggest you just burn the frame not the fabric or the filling.

without wishing to be a wet blanket, sometimes bonfires are built up over a period of time, particularly in houses with young children.
before lighting it all up, please check that a hedgehog has not gone into hibernation underneath it.

interesting subject here, melissa would burn an effigy of the p.m. what would other members like to see on a bonfire(effigy wise)?
my main choice would be noel edmonds closely followed by jimmy saville.

Howard you let me down!!! I was sure you would have fellow east-ender Richard Digance first on your list for the bonfire.Perhaps you are starting to see his wit, charm and the fact he is a talented musician!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

john
if a star like richard digance can be humble enough to have a cup of tea and a smoke with a district councillor, it just shows what a great bloke he must be.
brian

In "his heyday" is the point for me Howard, I used to listen to him. Now I just have to turn him off I find him really irritating, for me he is way past his sell by date
