  As Cap'n Bob constantly points out the only law the French have to stop this is the one making it illegal to set to sea from the French coast in an unseaworthy boat.
  
  As for us we are entitled under EU Laws to return illegal migrants to the last safe country which they could have claimed asylum in - not that we have ever exercised this right. There is nothing else on our statute books to deal with this.
  
  At sea maritime law kicks in - where as the coastguard and RNLI regularly point out the principal duty and responsibility is to ensure peoples safety.
  
  So the question you should all be asking and directing at the government is why dont they send people back to France as they are entitled to do or would they rather piss off their own population rather than the French?
