    I actually disagree with Sue and Roger, I dont think the Chairman should attend and refuse free tickets even if offered. And the Council Tax payers must not pay for it under any circumstances.

    I believe he should publically snub the event, it is what the organisers deserve. It is an outrage that such a price should be set for this and particularly when we are in such a deep recession. It is not the time for such over the top extravagence/greed, whatever it is that has prompted the price to be set.

    Perhaps the Chairman should instead organise an alternative dinner (Town hall perhaps) to be held at the same time and in direct competition and at a much, much more reasonable price.

    I believe the Chairman and DDC would receive a great deal of good press for this (nationals, maybe?)
