The Electric mountain houses the Dinorwig power station.
Behind the mountain is its source of power.
This runs through the mountain into the lake below.
Once it used to be the hive of activity in slate quarrying and cutting and the national slate museum is close by.
This is the old cutting building.
The landscape around the area is so unusual it was used in the last make of the film Clash of the Titans.

Great shots of Wales. I believe the hut where the cables comes through is still thre and protected. Have the bottle , its not easy upping sticks and moving away ,mind you I have and although I miss my mates the lifestyle is so much slower and more fitting for a lad of my advancing years..

Roger - 23 February 2011 09:2093867Yes that slate museum is great to go around and also we went down the mine,and you can take a land Rover ride round the whole site,we would like to back at some point. They were making a film when we were there Mr S Connery was the star,but we did not see him.
