Gary this is horrible. There was a recent case where a relative obtained a judicial review to force an inquest. Also a second pm can be asked for. I'm being rather brief but I'm using a mobile on a train to type this do google search on requesting second pm and challenging coroner it should show some possibilities xx
Gary its section 13 of the coroners act 1988 to challenge a decision. Also family can ask for second pm and to exclude a dr from the hospital in question undertaking it. A really good link is the Liberty website. Sorry for brevity but still on train

Gary, I can only imagine how upset all of you must be. I also wondered if a second post mortem would be possible.

Peter.
Thanks very much.
Sarah P.
I did request information about a second PM but I was told it would be costly and that he would probably have to go to another hospital and that it would delay the funeral,
Margaret, my mum in law, was too distraught to have any more delay's, so we had Wally's funeral yesterday, so no second pm, I am afraid. That would have been my choice but I had to respect Margaret's decision.

Gary, you have been amazing, thank goodness Wally is at peace now and his wife and family can now grieve and cherish their good memories of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Absolutley Gary , If I had been able to type more info , rather than be on a train thats the sort of question I would have asked , just sometimes an independant Pathologist can review the finding sof the initial PM , which might highlight inconsistencies , But at this horrid time that might just be too much for you and the family to go through , whatever you all end up deciding may I again offer you all my very heart felt condolences
