I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

A few years ago, I tried to get 12 delegates to learn French for free, but the courses didn't go ahead because I couldn't find 12 people in Dover who wanted to take it up. How sad is that ?

I don't know if things have changed much Brian, but I'm sure that funding (EU) would be available; maybe that's now something the Town Team could take up.

Does this now mean you are in favour of the EU if you want some money from the EU ?

Reg.
As we put a net sum of £45 million every day in to the EU, I think we should be entitled to a small grant. It doesn't mean that I approve of the corrupt body.

Brian.
It is an accepted fact, both within and without the EU, that is is a corrupt body, the accounts for it have NEVER been signed off and all the whisle-blowers for its corruptness haver either been sacked or met a suspicious death.

Yes but that was very small beer indeed by comparison and there are signs of a willingness to put the house in order. Contrast that with the wilful culture of denial, secrecy and institutional nest-feathering which persists across the channel. In financial terms the EU is a thousand times worse.
