Bern, I saw the postman this morning slip sliding around.

Amazing how the advertising always seems to get through but the important stuff is late.

Friends of mine in Deal hadn't had mail for a week so my friend phoned the PO to ask why as she was expecting a couple of important items. She was told that it was because of the weather, the postman couldn't get through. She pointed out that her husband had got to work and back twice a day all week, the milkman had got through and her washing machine mechanic had called too. They said they were sorry but nothing they could do. When she pressed them further pointing out that postage was expensive anyway she was told to wait a minute, she did, then a man came on the phone and told her the real reason her post wasn't getting through ............. her postman was off sick!!!!

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

What a shame for Deal residents having one postman to cover the whole area, what a daft excuse.
