One of the troubles is that we, people, tend to group others together because it is easier: we see miners having a scrap, all miners are the same, we see black people waving banners, they all do it, we see tall green people with pink stripes eating babies, they all do it. we need to be a little more creative in our thinking!!! Perhaps asking the question Why more often might help. If there is a picture of miners scrapping with police, perhaps it's the police provocation, perhaps it's fatigue and anger, fear at job losses, people who just want a scrap and would do it whatever their job, perhaps it's individuals on both sides, perhaps politicians engineered it so that people would lose patience and with it support for the miners.........Perhaps those people protesting had a point but made it in a horribly inappropriate way, and we let them. Perhaps successive governments rolling over once too many times has allowed this to happen. The question Why is always a good one.
