It did a couple of circles over Victoria Park then landed behind the trees, in Pencester Gardens.

Well, I was just walking down there this afternoon after a walk up to see the London Road Forum project`s display. This was the scene of the accident, and as always I hope nobody was seriously hurt. The traffic didn`t take long to build up, and I should imagine up at Morrisons where the road is currently singled, there would be a long tailback.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

From the photos it does look a mess.
The red Rover on the left was being driven by my daughters boyfriend on his way to work, the car on the right was driven by a lady who decided to indicate at the last second to turn into The Paddock.
Unfortunately the red car was forced onto the pavement and hit an old lady, No speeding was involved and there was plenty of witnesses. The silver car was at fault.
I've just shown these photos to the driver of the Rover and he turned as white as a sheet again, he is however feeling a lot better since the police called to say that there is no serious damage to the lady on the pavement and will make a quick recovery.
Thank god for that.

What good news Ian. Your daughter's boyfriend must be really shaken up and what a relief the the pedestrian was not badly hurt. Thank goodness there were plenty of witnesses it makes sorting it out so much easier.

Thanks people.
The funny thing is that now he's calmed down a bit he remembers the Paramedics telling the old lady they would have to cut her coat off to check for injuries, She told them that if they did that they would have to buy her a new one for Xmass.
A good end to a bad start.

I got caught up in that! Had to carve across two lanes of traffic to take the truck up Ladywell! Glad there were no serious injuries after all that - my wife was told that the pedestrian had died!!! A touch of chinese whispers in the college I think.

Well done there to Ed, Terry, and Colin for the excellent news pictures. Its great having roving reporters out there on the streets capturing all the latest. Well done lads and many thanks.
Thanks too Ian for the latest info. Must have been a shock being personally affected but good news of sorts in that nobody appears to have been too seriously hurt. I didnt hear or see any of this going on. Im out of it down here.

Given the positive outcome - I am so glad no-one was badly hurt - this is a good example of community news reporting. Nice one chaps. Makes you proud to be part of the DF community.

Well done to all who managed to smother the chinese whispers with 'on the ball' reports, glad to see that the lady pedestrian is not seriously injured
Ian, it must have been an almighty shock for you to find out that your daughter's boyfriend was involved, but all okay in the end, love her comment about the coat for Christmas.

I passed the scene of the accident whilst on the bus at about 13.15. Never seen so many police cars. I also saw the lady being transferred from an ambulance into the helicopter in Pencester gardens. I am pleased to see that the lady is not too badly injured.
Colin, was that you in the wide brimmed hat taking photos with an expensive looking camera ?.
