    Here is the plan.

Originally 'designed' to start on completion of the western section of the A20. Now to begin alongside the existing mayhem.

Apparently due to work overrun because of more extensive underground service workings than anticipated.

Whoever came up with this ludicrous plan had obviously got it in for Dover residents and businesses.

It is difficult enough already getting to and from the seafront areas south of Townwall Street into the Town. Now it will be virtually impossible without getting involved in heavy, often stationery traffic, and long diversions.

No consultation on this just the usual platitudes about clearly signed diversion etc.

All this sorry inconvenience now scheduled to go on until February next year is perfectly OK because it will assist DHB in their ambition to get more and more traffic through the Port and 'revive' the Western Docks where there will be minimal impact on Dover residents from traffic destined for that area from the A20.

The suggested improvement to the A2 route to the Port (purely just an idea at present) does not in itself relieve the problem of traffic volumes clogging up the roads around Dover.

Dover has been sacrificed to the ambitions of those who have little or no interest in regenerating our Town or preserving its history.

We do not care about explanations for why this or that is being done, or who is responsible. We can see the results only too clearly with our own eyes every single hour of every single day.

We just want our Town back. Back in the hands of those who live and work here.
