or any cllr
could i share with you some issues you might like to deal with;
1; street light bottom Eaves road been out now for 2 months or more
2; thursdays bin collection eaves road, i have had 2 supervisors up here and
spoken to the staff, but nothing changes, on thursdays i put out 2 bins with black
sacks inside, so foxs etc cant get at bags, the bin person then takes bags out
of bin and throws them on the top grass, which results in the black bags
splitting open, and they leave behind what they drop.
the council tells me they dont have to clear it up as its not in the
contract(how stupid is that)AND theres a lot of mess after they have gone
3; When the grass is cut the cuttings are left on the bank, thus even with a
small wind it blows into the houses, again told council and they tell me its
not in there contract to take the cuttings away, all of this results in elderly
people taking there lives in there hands to clean up after them.
I hope you can look into all these issues and allow me your findings
thanks
keith

10:4185278Isn't there a channel at the council for raising these things? Not complaining - if it gets the job done let's raise it here!! I am just asking.

11:5685281People can go direct to the Council, or their local (District) Councillor.
There are 3 District Councillors in the Maxton, Elmsvale and Priory ward - 2 Labour and 1 Conservatove (me).
I am happy to take up Keith's question, shows he has more faith in me than the Labour Councillors (no slight intended).
I'll have a chat with the relevant people Keith and let you know.

13:1085283I think this thread should more accurately be titled "Keith opens Labour's May 2011 election campaign"
Even as someone who is actively involved I want a break and I know most of the public do, give it a rest please.

19:0785333could i start by stating my dissappointment in the replies.
there was nothing political in my posting
and roger i have as much faith in the two labour councillors as i do yourself and i'm sad you have had to make such comments.
i raised this issues on the forum as roger does post/look in where as the 2 labour dont(as far as i know)
I would hope that like any other poster on this forum i'm able to raise concerns of local residents where ever they may live.
I was actually trying to help, and as i say feel a bit let down that this has turned the way it has.
don't worry about it roger
wont bother telling you again
i apologise in advance at my tone=but have to express my dissappointment
others post all the time items of concern around there areas
and wider.
i will say no more

19:1685335Lost your sense of humour with the cold Keith.
Roger has taken your queery about the lamp post seriously, he has asked for the post number.

19:2385338seems to have turned into a let's bash keith thread overall.
he has simply made a complaint about the service he is getting, hardly the first person on here to do so.
his complaint was probably the most polite one, roger has offered to look into it.
accusations of electioneering seem absurd.

21:2485362after checking it out i find that it is indeed the responsibility of k.c.c.
this must have changed, was always a district issue.

08:2885397I'm happy to follow it up Keith, I said I would and I have now written to the responsible person with your questions.
Every time I have written to Kent Highways about lighting problems, they have always asked for the column number or they can't proceed, but I will try it with your advice about its location.
I'm sure you realised my comment about asking me instead of the two Labour Councillors, was tongue in cheek.
Keep smiling.

10:3885417A year or two back I believe Councils said they could no longer afford to do checks on things like street lights and it was up to the individual to let them know if one was not working, or on when it should not be on, or when drains were blocked .... and it would then be dealt with.
