Ian, it looks like some comments on the Afghanistan situation have got your back up, but I am sure what ever remarks have got to you they were not meant to. You served, as I did and others on this Forum and it is hard to accept some comments made when you see lads from your own regiment lose their lives.
Remember though that is why we served, so people can have their say, be brave mate and swallow your pride and do not put in writing on the Forum in such a way as to get you banned.
Remember "Fortune Favours the Brave" live to fight (write) another day.

Ian I can't say anything that hasn't already been said by everyone else, except that I agree with them. Please reconsider.

Thank you for your texts, e-mails, phone calls and of course your postings.
My original posting made on ( a mission to finish ) was to show respect for those who had lost their lives and to support servicemen already out there or about to go. What did I get?
Lines and lines of drivel, facts and figures about history and postings no one wanted to hear, especially me.
Yes I'm being careful about choosing my words and will mention no names nor go off on one.
I could go on and on but I don't see the point.
Why use 2.000 words when 20 will do. (Take note if your reading this rubbish Alex)
On that note I have nothing further to add.
Is that a one day or a two day ban Howard?

i don't see a problem here to be honest ian, we all know about your army background and your personal feelings over what has happened.
alex has made an apology on this thread for his over enthusiasm in making political points over the tragic incident.
i sincerely hope that you and alex will continue to post your interesting comments
on a variety of subjects here in the future.

Having just returned fropm scotland i missed what ian appears to be upset with.
it appears to relate to afghanistan.
whilst we all have strong views i will stick my neck out here and say we do have lots of differing views and we won't always agree(and nor should we)
there are many subjects barryw and I will never agree on
but wre continue to post
I look forward to everyones contributions whether i agree with them or not
