 - Strangely enough it is Winter so I always expect it to be cold with possible frost and snow, the Express always gives over the top weather predictions so that is nothing new. - -----------------------------------------------------------------------

 - The Independent is carrying the same prediction as the Express but the BBC website just shows normal weather.

 - A lot of these 'heavy' snowfalls causing traffic chaos all over the country are what we used to call a sprinkling when I was a kid growing up in North Derbyshire.

 - On the BBC news - New York bracing itself for 3ft in the next 24 hours - just like Dover 1963 - anyone of a certain age will recall how long that lasted - I doubt today's 'texting' generation will know how to cope - bring it on!
 Just my opinion.

 - Thank you so much Peter for that very kind offer but shopping will not be a problem as my daughter will do it for me. -
Snow or ice just means I will catch up on all my recorded TV progs or play even more computer games than I do now, it will not mean I do more housework.
